Report on Emergency relief for conflict affected

By Mrs. Woderyelesh Ashebir Belay | Executive Director

Dear GlobalGiving Community,

Three months ago, No One Down Relief Organization (NODRO) launched its very first project on GlobalGiving, aiming to bring life-saving support to over 1.1 million people displaced by conflict, drought, and floods across Ethiopia. We are deeply grateful for this platform, which allows us to connect with supporters around the world.

How Our Project Is Going So Far

Since the project went live, our team has been working tirelessly with regional authorities and local partners to reach some of the most vulnerable displaced families. In the past three months, we have:

ü  Distributed 1,200 emergency NFI kits (blankets, cooking utensils, mats) to families in Oromia Tigray, and Amhara.

ü  Provided cash assistance to 350 households (about $120 each) enabling families to buy food, clothing, and medicines of their choice.

ü  Set up temporary shelters for 500 families who were living under plastic sheets.

ü  Rehabilitated 4 wells and installed emergency water storage tanks, giving safe drinking water access to more than 8,000 people.

ü  Delivered 1,000 hygiene kits (soap, water treatment tablets, buckets) to help prevent cholera and other waterborne diseases.

Early Results & Community Stories

ü  Families now have safer living conditions, especially women and children who were previously exposed to violence and harsh weather.

ü  Mothers report being able to cook hot meals again for their children thanks to the cooking kits provided.

ü  Children who had stopped attending classes are slowly returning to school as households regain some stability.
