Emergency Preparedness Fund Donor Report

Summary:
The safety and well-being of our animal residents remain at the heart of our mission. With the increasing threat of wildfires in the Inland Northwest, we launched the Emergency Preparedness Fund to strengthen our ability to respond swiftly and effectively in the event of an emergency. Your generous support has helped us make progress, but we still need additional funding to reach our $10,000 goal. These funds will be used to acquire essential emergency equipment, including transport kennels, containment solutions, and other resources to ensure our animals’ safety during evacuations.

Current Status:

  • Total Goal: $10,000
  • Raised to Date: $1,565
  • Remaining Need: $8,435
  • Donors: 10
  • Monthly Donors: 1
  • Time Frame: 1 year

Challenge:
Wildfire risks continue to escalate, posing a serious threat to our sanctuary and its inhabitants. Our current emergency resources are not sufficient to handle a large-scale evacuation should the need arise. Additional funding will allow us to strengthen our preparedness, ensuring a safe and efficient evacuation process if needed.

Solution:
To address this challenge, we are focused on securing critical resources through the Emergency Preparedness Fund. Priorities include:

  • Specialized Transport Kennels: Secure and comfortable enclosures for safely relocating animals.
  • Advanced Communication Tools: Essential for coordinating staff, volunteers, and emergency responders during evacuations.
  • Staff and Student Training: Ensuring that our team is well-prepared for swift and efficient evacuations.
  • Fire Prevention Measures: Reducing risks by proactively removing hazardous materials and enhancing fire safety infrastructure.

Long-Term Impact:

  • Lifesaving Protection: Proper evacuation planning and equipment safeguard our animals in emergencies.
  • Rapid Response: With the necessary tools, we can respond more effectively to wildfire threats, reducing risks to both animals and humans.
  • Resilience in Adversity: These preparations will fortify our sanctuary against future challenges, ensuring long-term safety.
  • Community Leadership: Our preparedness efforts serve as a model for other wildlife sanctuaries and animal care facilities.

Recent Updates:

  • Tree Removal: Continued clearing of hazardous trees to reduce fire risks.
  • Fire Prevention Inspection: Conducted to confirm compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Emergency Training Session: Held for staff and students to enhance preparedness for potential evacuation scenarios.
  • Supply Procurement: Began acquiring essential emergency supplies to ensure readiness.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us get closer to our goal.
  • Share Our Mission: Help spread the word about our emergency preparedness efforts.
  • Become a Monthly Supporter: Ongoing support ensures we remain ready for any emergency.

Your generosity directly impacts the safety of our sanctuary’s residents. We deeply appreciate your support as we continue working toward our goal. Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for being a vital part of our mission.
