This project will provide emergency financial support to refugee leaders and refugee human rights defenders facing threats and at risk of of torture, those arrested and those who are facing serious security risks in their countries of asylum or in any other country. This will include food, relocation, legal assistance, medical treatment, and house rent for a short period of time in order to save their lives.
Refugee Leaders and Refugee Human Rights Defenders around the world continue to face many threats and unfortunately the world does not have enough information about the situation of this category of people. Some are punished by the refugee regime in different countries because of standing for refugee rights, some are arrested and suffer alone in detention places, others are forced to flee their host countries, others are denied relief aid in order to weaken them,....
This project will restore hope and build solidarity around the world on the situation of Refugee Leaders and Refugee Human Rights Defenders in difficult situations. This project will offer them the necessary support they need and empower them to stand for what they believe in, and lastly this project will create better ways to increase their protection space, through urgent interventions in less than 48hours.
To advocate for the support to Refugee Leaders and Refugee Human Rights Defenders, and to advocate that the Donor Community, Human Rights Organizations and Embassies in each countries have particular and special interventions towards refugee human rights defenders. To lobby to the Humanitarian organizations to put in pace special interventions towards all these refugees who put aside their own problems and take to their shoulders the problems of others refugees and go through risks.
