In recent times, Afghanistan has experienced a significant increase in natural disasters, particularly floods, which have severely affected many communities across the country. Due to ongoing economic challenges, many families are unable to construct their homes according to proper and safe standards. In addition, limited technical capacity among local builders has made it difficult to ensure that houses are resilient against natural disasters.
Over the past year, several provinces including Logar, Laghman, Badakhshan, and others were heavily impacted by severe flooding. These floods caused widespread destruction, resulting in both financial losses and tragic loss of lives. Many families lost their homes, belongings, and sources of livelihood, leaving them in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
In response to this crisis, Aseel launched a series of emergency campaigns to support affected communities. Through these efforts, the organization was able to assist 110 families who were directly impacted by the floods.
The assistance provided included the distribution of essential food items such as flour, oil, rice, beans, and other basic necessities. In addition, clothing was distributed to vulnerable groups, including children living on the streets and widowed women. These interventions aimed to provide immediate relief and support families in meeting their basic needs during a very difficult time.
Despite these efforts, the need for support remains high. Continued assistance and long-term solutions are essential to help communities rebuild safer homes and strengthen their resilience against future natural disasters.
