EXPANDING HANDWASHING FACILITIES IN HIGH-RISK COMM

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Access to proper handwashing facilities remains one of the most effective tools for preventing the spread of Ebola. With your continued support, we have expanded community handwashing stations in strategic locations where large numbers of people gather daily.

New facilities have been installed in schools, trading centers, transportation hubs, and community gathering points. Each station is equipped with clean water, soap, and educational messages promoting good hygiene practices. Community members are increasingly adopting regular handwashing habits as awareness grows.

The presence of these facilities has improved hygiene standards and strengthened public confidence in ongoing prevention efforts. Teachers, community leaders, and local health volunteers are encouraging consistent use of the stations and helping monitor their maintenance.

Parents have reported that children are practicing better hygiene both at school and at home. This positive behavior change extends beyond Ebola prevention and contributes to reducing other infectious diseases as well.

Your generosity is making it possible for vulnerable communities to access essential hygiene resources during a critical period. Every handwashing station represents a practical and visible investment in community health and safety.

Thank you for helping us create safer environments where families can live, learn, and work while reducing the risk of Ebola transmission. Your support continues to save lives and strengthen community resilience.
