Emergency Ebola Response in Uganda

Thanks to your generous support, our Ebola prevention campaign continues to reach vulnerable communities across Uganda. During the reporting period, trained community volunteers conducted awareness sessions in schools, markets, places of worship, and village gatherings. Thousands of residents received accurate information about Ebola symptoms, prevention measures, and the importance of early reporting.

Misinformation remains one of the greatest challenges during disease outbreaks. Through community dialogues and door-to-door sensitization, families are learning how Ebola spreads and the actions they can take to protect themselves. Educational materials were distributed in local languages to ensure that critical information is understood by everyone, including those in remote areas.

Community leaders have become valuable partners in promoting preventive behaviors such as frequent handwashing, avoiding contact with suspected cases, and seeking medical assistance when symptoms appear. The increased awareness is helping to reduce fear and encourage cooperation with public health teams.
