Uganda is facing a dangerous Ebola outbreak that threatens vulnerable communities and overstretched health systems. This project will support frontline health workers, deliver lifesaving protective equipment, strengthen rapid response teams, and provide critical community education to stop the spread. Your donation will help protect families, save lives, and contain the outbreak before it escalates further.
Uganda continues to face recurring Ebola outbreaks, which spread quickly and have high fatality rates. The current outbreak is putting immense pressure on already limited healthcare systems, particularly in rural and high-density communities borders. Frontline health workers often lack adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), increasing their risk of infection. Misinformation and low public awareness are contributing to delayed reporting and unsafe practices, accelerating transmission.
This project will deliver an integrated emergency response to contain Ebola and protect at-risk populations by: Providing PPE and infection prevention supplies to frontline health workers, train and deploy rapid response teams for contact tracing and case management, conduct community awareness campaigns to promote early detection and safe practices, improve WASH facilities. This will reduce transmission and strengthen local capacity to respond effectively.
This project will not only address the current outbreak but also strengthen long-term preparedness by building local capacity, improving surveillance systems, and promoting sustainable hygiene practices. Communities will be better equipped to prevent and respond to future public health emergencies.
