This project aims to support people affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on February 6 in Kahramanmaras/Turkey and affected 10 different provinces of Turkey. The authorities announced more than 50,000 deaths and 100,000 destroyed buildings. With the supports, at least 100 families (400-500 people) affected from this earthquake will be supported during the 1 year recovery program by non-monetary aids, activities and long-term programmes.
As a result of the M 7,8 earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaras/Turkey on February 6 at 04:17 a.m. local time and caused serious destruction in 10 different cities. There are already more than 50,000 deaths, 100,000 destroyed buildings according to the authorities.
We have created the campaign to support relief and recovery efforts for the needs in the region (especially Hatay and Kahramanmaras in Turkey). We monitor the impact on affected communities and work with partners at Disaster Network to allocate aids (shelter, clothes, food, hygiene materials, clean water, medicine, and children school needs) and supports to where they're needed most, as well as psychosocial support for women and sport programmes for children.
Needs Map continues to work to prepare regions and communities for disaster response; to identify the impact of disasters on people, economic activities and the most affected and vulnerable households and to improve and rebuild resilience with the experience gained in the disaster response process.
