Thank you from Palestine!
With your donations to the COVID emergency campaign in Palestine, you have allowed us to give an extra hand to the many Palestinian families and children experiencing a dramatic situation.
The “second wave” has begun and it is coming back to Bethlem which is again undergoing strict control until further notice. The city is based on tourism but today it looks empty and shut down, while 85% of its inhabitants have been deprived of their income. Not only the touristic sector is suffering from the lockdown though: all the other commercial and productive activities have also been affected, including schools, universities, institutions and hospitals that have been compelled to cut wages and, unlikely, to fire plenty of employees. Consequently, more and more people live below the poverty line and are not able to satisfy the bare subsistence needs of their families.
Thanks to the many people who have decided to stay by our side to face this great challenge, we have raised 586 dollars that have allowed us to offer a valuable financial contribution to the daily expenses of many families. These funds have been used to pay part of the rents, bills, food, medicine and powdered milk for many families who have been facing the great difficulties of the lockdown from one moment to the next.
We have done a lot, actually much more than we planned to do! Our effort continues thanks to your support and we wish that we will be able to definitely overcome, all together, this difficult emergency situation.
Many thanks for having made a difference in the life of our children!
