The population in Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian disaster. The bombardment of Gaza has led to over 40,000 deaths, over 100,000 injuries, 10,000 more are missing presumed dead and over 2 million Gazan's have been displaced from their homes. Our Emergency appeal is for immediate emergency relief, through the delivery of food aid , medical and psychosocial support . These will be delivered through Amos Trust's Partner projects in Gaza and by other organisations known to us.
The population in Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian disaster. As well as the vast number of dead, injured and missing and the massive level of destruction, Israel's decision to halt fuel, food, water and medicine to the population of Gaza is having catastrophic consequences, with people having no food, water or fuel and nowhere safe to shelter.
This project will provide immediate short term aid to the population of Gaza. We will deliver essential supplies to local communities through out network of partner projects and essential medical supplies to our partner Al Ahli hospital. Support received has already allowed us to send vital funds to Al Ahli, to provide food and water for some of the thousands sheltering in church, hospital and community buildings and for the Gaza Sunbirds para-cycling team to provide food to their communities.
Once there's an end to hostilities our focus will move to: - provision of accommodation / supplies to those who have been left homeless by the conflict - ongoing treatment for victims including physiotherapy and reconstructive surgery at Amos partner the Ahli hospital - therapy for children, young families and young people who have experienced acute trauma through our partners NECC - support for those who have suffered amputations from the Gaza Sunbirds para-cycling team
