Project Update: January – March 2025
Mwanza Community Emergency First Response Project
We are pleased to share the continued progress and impact of the Mwanza Community Emergency First Response Project, implemented by the Tanzania Rural Health Movement. From January to March 2025, our efforts have further strengthened emergency care access in underserved and rural communities across Mwanza.
Key Achievements This Quarter:
We successfully trained and equipped 15 new community-based first responders, bringing the total number of active responders to 28.
Our team responded to 397 emergency incidents, including:
357 road traffic accidents
3 fire incidents
2 drowning cases
35 other emergency situations
These responses enabled us to provide emergency care to a total of 596 casualties in need.
As we mark 10 years of operations in Mwanza, we’re proud to share that our work and milestones were recently featured in The Citizen, one of Tanzania's leading publications.
We remain deeply grateful for your ongoing support and donations, which continue to make this life-saving work possible.
With gratitude,
Tanzania Rural Health Movement Team
