Project Report | May 17, 2024
QUARTER TWO| 2024

By Marko Hingi | Executive Director

Dear Partner,

Thank you for continued partnership and contribution towards supporting the community emergency response in Tanzania. The community emergency in Mwanza under Tanzania Rural Health Movement is available for free 24-7 and supports the communities who sustain injuries due to road traffic accidents, obstetrics, and medical emergencies.

Our response time averages at 7 minutes irrespective of geographical location and it can be less than 7 minutes when we have a good number of trained first responders. Despite we have trained over 200 first responders since inception but we have 20 active first responders who provide lifesaving services to the communities and reduces chances of deterioration, mortality and provides comfort to the patients.

We ensure that the trained first responders are equipped with basic medical supplies and gets immediate notification through the Beacon Software. The available first responders have responded to 150 incidents since January and over 375 casualties have been served including the school children.

Increasing the number of new first responders will increase the number of incidents responded in the shortest time as possible. After heavy rains we have started to train new first responders on the way to train 100 first responders. The first course on this mission comprised 13 dedicated volunteers and they will be certified today evening. They will be equipped with the reflective vest and medical supplies to support the existing first responders.

We will keep you posted on the progress and don’t hesitate to visit our social media (Tanzania Rural Health Movement) for the latest updates.

Thank you.
