Eid is one of the year's most blessed and joyful times, a moment everyone eagerly anticipates. We at Hope Revival Organization (HRO) believe that no one should be deprived of the serenity and happiness of Eid, especially children in one of the most dangerous areas in northwest Syria. Though the needs are huge, and every child in NW Syria needs help and deserves happy moments, we in HRO want to deliver our services to children at heightened risk to spread happiness among children and their families during Eid, enhancing their resilience and well-being.
During July 2024, our Child Protection case managers at HRO's Darkosh Centre, who actively address the critical needs of children affected by the prolonged conflict in northwest Syria, identified 20 children (10 girls and 10 boys) to participate in the campaign activities. This initiative was part of a specially prepared plan to boost the children’s self-confidence, integrate them with their peers, and help them return to normal life, thus decreasing the protection dangers they face.
The selection process was based on the Child Protection Cluster's criteria, prioritizing vulnerable groups such as separated or unaccompanied children, orphans, low-income families, displaced families, children aged 8 to 10, and those with specific protection concerns.
Our team took the children to local shops to choose clothes based on their interests and favorite colors. As new clothes symbolize celebration and joy, we aimed to make this experience memorable. Alongside distributing clothes, the HRO team implemented diverse entertainment activities for children aged 8 to 10, providing physical, social, and cognitive benefits.
These activities enhance hand-eye coordination, provide a pleasurable sensory experience, and improve cooperation, critical thinking, spatial awareness, physical exercise, coordination, and balance. Additionally, they help develop agility, teamwork, reflexes, speed, precision, social growth, collaboration, memory abilities, creativity, empathy, and language skills.
The positive reactions from the beneficiaries emphasized the importance of such campaigns and their significant impact on the lives of those in need.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors and supporters. Your contributions have made a tangible difference in these children's lives, and we look forward to your continued support as we strive to help all children as much as possible.
