Many families in rural areas are faced with a challenge of transport and there are few social institutions like hospitals and schools in their reach. Having any means of transport in the family is an added advantage and it is the push factor why Another Hope Children’s Ministries is aiming at purchasing a service van to enable service delivery to the children.
The kindergarten children being taken to school by the social worker on the left and on the right some of the children in primary on the visitation day.
Another Hope Children’s Ministries is a children’s home accommodating a number of children from different regions of the country. We look at providing all services in a family-like environment and a service van is a necessity in the children’s home to enable proper service delivery to the children. This will help in taking children to the hospital looking at the distance between the children’s home and Wakiso Health Centre IV where the children get medical care from. The service van will also help in taking the children to their respective schools, visiting them and picking them during holiday time. The children in the children’s home are also taken for outings and picnics which call for incurring more resources in transporting the children to the recreation centers. The availability of the service van will help to reduce the costs of public transport and the resources can be used to meet other needs in the home like availing more food, clothing, and shoes. The service van will also help to deliver services to the children in communities like transporting the staff and volunteers to carry out activities in schools and homes. Among these are delivering bibles, reusable sanitary pads and conducting workshops in areas of Wakiso, Mukono, and others.
To meet our USD 24,000 goal, we still need USD 2,982 and we shall be in a position to purchase the service van. Your contribution towards the service van to enable proper and better service delivery to the vulnerable children will be greatly appreciated.
