Empower 220 Futures in Brazil by providing concise training to young people aged 15-19, broadening their vision of vocation, skills, and interests. Our Educational Program connects them to professional trends and societal life through practical, real-world learning, mentoring, and job placement support, ensuring impactful, long-lasting inclusion in the workforce.
5.2 million Brazilian youth aged 14 to 24 are unemployed, 55% of the country's total unemployed. Among them, 52% are women and 66% are Black or mixed race. Additionally, 7.1 million are neither working nor studying, with 60% being women and 68% Black or mixed race. In Jaguare, Sao Paulo's largest favela, 3,597 households are in extreme vulnerability, with 479 in high vulnerability. These statistics, from the Ministry of Labor and Employment, highlight a critical situation demanding attention.
The Educational Program aims to combat youth unemployment by providing a three-year training focused on practical skills and job market integration. Through workshops, participants develop socioemotional and technical skills, including project management and career planning. Additionally, they receive technical training at renowned schools, fully funded by Instituto Reciclar, along with mentorship and job placement support, breaking the cycle of unemployment in Jaguare and neighboring areas.
The Educational Program's long-term benefits extend to the community by breaking the cycle of youth unemployment, contributing to a skilled workforce and economic stability. Families benefit from higher incomes, leading to improved living conditions and a more prosperous community. The program's goals include 85% of young people employed by the program's end and a 40% increase in per capita family income, benefiting not only the 220 annual participants but also the wider community.
