This is to request for support to our centre that caters for orphans, women and other disadvantaged poor in Nairobi. Ngando Universal Centre is a community based organization and project located in one of the slums areas in Nairobi. It is supporting needy women and children and the vulnerable i.e. orphans, street kids, and children from extremely poor homes. The project is located in Ngando Slums, Nairobi-Kenya and we offer all basic necessities both educational and family support..
Following the post election violence that was witnessed in Kenya, many families were internally displaced. Women and Children bore the burden of facing diverse problems. Others were separated from parents and even most families were separated with others being in different camps. The resettlement process has begun and families are now being moved to their original homes. This process appeals for concerted efforts and great support to enable families resettle.
(a) School care and education for the needy. (b) Home based care for needy children and needy families through provision of goods and services. (c) Undertake qualitative research on problems facing children and families in Kenya and make recommendations on how best children and family welfare can be done. (d) Educate through awareness seminars and workshops on family bonds which is aimed at strengthening the families. (e) Offer food supplies to poor families.
NUC shall undertake research in those communities that are affected by poverty. The organization shall undertake counseling sessions among the poor. Initiate income generating projects for poor families through skills training and financial support. Initiate pro-poor community projects that can have direct impact for improvement of the livelihoods of the poor. Encouraging medical supply to the children and poor families for their heath care.
