This quarter we have been able to move our new junior high school 3 students into the boarding house and hire a housemother to care for the students living in the boarding house. The boarding house provides a safe living environment for students in the junior high school and provides them with nutritious meals and additional classes and time to focus on their studies as they prepare to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Mary, a student in JHS 3, has been benefiting from the Student Empowerment Feeding Programme these past two terms, and is now living in the boarding house as she prepares to write her BECE at the end of this school year. She is a bright student with a passion for education and sports. When she’s not studying or reading, you can often times catch Mary running around or playing volleyball with her teammates. Your generous support has been instrumental in ensuring that Mary and all of the Challenging Heights students are able to remain in school. Your donations have also helped to provide the students living in the boarding house with cookware, maintenance and upkeep in the boarding house, and additional money for feeding and preparing meals for the students.
This quarter we have also been able to provide some of the students with new uniforms, shoes, notebooks, and school bags. All of these things have been made possible because of your generous contributions to Challenging Heights. Thank you for helping our students remain in school and assert their right to education!
