In a context of increasing drug trafficking and consumption among young people, lack of opportunities, domestic violence, and a deterioration in quality of life that mainly affects those living in the poorest areas, we propose to develop 20 educational, sports, and cultural spaces for children and adolescents in Argentina, located in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Rios, Santa Fe, Cordoba, Tucuman, Santiago del Estero, San Juan, and Mendoza.
Many young people, including children, from low-income neighborhoods begin using drugs at a very early age. They end up trapped in addiction as the only way to escape a reality marked by material deprivation, overcrowding, lack of opportunities, and violence. Faced with poverty and a lack of hope for a better future, drug trafficking becomes the employer of a large part of the youth. For this reason, we need spaces for human development that allow for healthy, safe, and caring socialization.
We will reach 3,500 children and adolescents through educational, sports, and cultural spaces, addressing the risks of poverty in a comprehensive manner, ensuring social integration, community strengthening, and their emotional and physical well-being. We aim to train and hire 120 local educators and sports coaches who can recognize warning signs in the behavior of children and adolescents, provide materials and equipment to community spaces, and improve their physical infrastructure.
Reduction of risky behaviors among young people, such as problematic consumption and delinquency; Strengthening of the community by providing safe spaces and professional support networks for children and adolescents; Improvement of physical spaces for activities, and completion of the Diego Armando Maradona Sports Center in Zavaleta, Federal Capital; Opportunity to continue and complete their studies for 120 educators and sports coaches who will receive income for their work.
