On the Graduation Day of Our Super Heroes

By Debadutta Dash | Secretary, Sukaryta USA

On a bright and hopeful morning of August 3, 2024, the air in Delhi was filled with excitement and anticipation. The students of the ‘Education on Wheels’ program gathered, their hearts pounding with a mix of nervousness and joy. Today was the day they had been waiting for—they would receive certificates for successfully clearing the Open Basic Education (OBE) Exam conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

These students, hailing from the slums of Delhi, had faced numerous challenges in their young lives. Many had never set foot in a school before joining the program, while others had been forced to abandon their studies due to various hardships. But today, all those struggles seemed like distant memories as they stood proudly, ready to embark on a new chapter in their educational journey.

As the ceremony began, the atmosphere was electric. The students, dressed in their best clothes, beamed with pride and happiness. The Sukarya team, who had worked tirelessly to support these children, felt overwhelming triumph. For them, this moment was nothing short of a conquest—a testament to their unwavering dedication and the students' resilience.

Mr. D. S. Kataria, the trustee, took the stage to distribute the certificates. His eyes sparkled with pride as he handed each student their hard-earned certificate. “Congratulations,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. “You have shown incredible determination and strength. Today, you are not just receiving a certificate but opening the doors to a brighter future.”

The students’ faces lit up with joy as they clutched their certificates tightly. For many, this was the first tangible proof of their academic achievements. They knew this was just the beginning—now, they were ready to join regular schools and continue their education.

The Sukarya team watched with tears of joy in their eyes. Each year, they embarked on this journey with the students; each year, the achievements felt profoundly personal and emotional. They knew the stories behind each certificate—the late-night study sessions, the battles against adversity, and the unwavering hope that had brought them to this moment.

The students and the Sukarya team celebrated as the ceremony drew close. Laughter and cheers filled the air, and the sense of accomplishment was palpable. This day was a reminder that even the most challenging obstacles could be overcome with dedication, support, and a little hope.

On that unforgettable day, in the heart of Delhi, the ‘Education on Wheels’ program had not just awarded certificates—it had ignited dreams, inspired futures, and proved that education could truly transform lives. That was the Day of Graduation for our Super Heroes!!.
