STORY OF AMARJEET
Amarjeet and his family, originally from Roshi Shahnagari village in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, migrated to Delhi seeking better opportunities. Amarjeet's education was disrupted after third grade due to relocation. In Delhi, they live in a small rented house in JJ Bandhu Vasant Kunj. His father works as an electrician, while his mother manages the household. The family comprises Amarjeet, his parents, a younger brother, and a sister. Discovered during a survey by E.O.W. teachers from Sukarya, Amarjeet was approached by the teachers while playing outside his house. They informed his parents about the E.O.W. project and its potential to provide education and help Amarjeet get mainstreamed to a government school. Delighted, Amarjeet enrolled in the E.O.W. classes, which follow the Open Basic Education (O.B.E.) system under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). He is currently in the fifth grade. Excitedly preparing for upcoming government exams, Amarjeet looks forward to joining a government school upon passing. His enthusiasm for education has influenced his younger brother to join E.O.W. classes, aspiring to appear for exams next year.
Expressing gratitude, Amarjeet remarks, "I am very happy that my E.O.W. teachers found me and enrolled me. I enjoy coming here and studying from the E.O.W. teachers every day. My favourite subject is mathematics", Amarjeet says. His journey exemplifies the transformative impact of the E.O.W. project, providing accessible education to underprivileged children and igniting hope for a brighter future.
