With a new year come new challenges, new goals and new opportunities. It is time for Escuela Adelante to work towards the completion of our primary school building. In Nicaragua, primary school runs first through sixth grade. This year we launch 6th grade and we will have our first primary school graduation at the end of the year. However, we remain two classrooms short! That means that between preschool and primary, some of the groups must share classrooms. This of course affects our enrollment and as hard as we work to prevent it, our overall quality. It is not a sustainable way to grow our school. This must change and we need your help!

We must keep our educational programs open and accessible to families of all socioeconomic backgrounds. It is not possible to raise the price of tuition in order to build more classrooms. It is not possible in fact to raise the price of tuition to meet our operations budget, let alone fundraising for construction. However, s a registered non-profit organization we have the ability to fundraise to meet our goals. We rely on sponsors, donors, benefactors and other institutions to help us reach our goals, so that the burden doesn’t lay on local Nicaraguan families!

Afterall, Nicaragua remains one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. It is hard enough to put food on the table and provide a stable homelife for many children – asking for money for private school is often a priviledge reserved for few. But, it shouldn’t be that way. And we refuse to operate that way. And that’s why we are so grateful to our monthly sponsors, one-time donors and others.

When we work together we ensure equal access to high-quality education. Now, in 2023 is the time to finish our primary school building. There’s no other way to move forward with our mission and the growth of our school. If you haven’t already signed up to become a monthly donor, we have a one-time 100% match for all new recurring donations up to $200 per month after 4 months. Also, please consider making a one time donation.

Join us to make a difference in Nicaragua and bring a wave of revolutionary change to this beautiful country and people!

Building a bilingual school is no easy feat. But, that's what makes it all the more interesting, dynamic, and fun. Yes, FUN! We have so much fun building Escuela Adelante. At our school, we believe that if you can DREAM it, you can CREATE it!

Back in 2013, Escuela Adelante was just an idea. How can we bridge a gap between the local and foreign communities? How can we empower children and a community through education? How can we use our voice for good? We asked the tough questions, and we got some tough answers. We knew the road wouldn't be easy, but we kept going anyway!

Now, nearly 10 years later, we have created something truly special. As of next year, we will offer bilingual preschool through 6th grade for approximately 170 students. We are so proud of what we've created, but we couldn't have done it without your support. We needed YOU to believe in our ideas. We needed you to PUSH our forward. And you did just that.

Just like we never gave up on our dream to create the first bilingual school in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, you never gave up on supporting us. Thank you. That support is invaluable. It isn't just measured in dollars. When you give to our school, you support our ideas, you support our students, you support educational equity, and you support high-quality, low-cost, and accessible education. That is immeasurable. The impact is profound. We are so grateful.

We love the work we do. We have FUN teaching our students and growing our school. But, we don't forget the serious responsibility that comes with the fun work that we do. We must ensure high standards, a rigorous curriculum, and outstanding teachers. To do that, we need the funds to match the dream. The classrooms don't build themselves, unfortunately. We depend on our donors to keep moving Escuela Adelante forward. And move forward is what we intend to keep doing -- all the way through high school!

Our current goal is to build two more classrooms to finish our primary school 6-classroom building. Thanks to a generous grant from the Embassy of Japan in Managua, we are about 66% done with the primary building, but we are still two classrooms short. They are now urgently needed as we continue to share classrooms, while mixing age groups, and limiting our ability to serve more children.

As the waitlist continues to grow, and our students do too, won't you consider making a new pledge to donate through 2023? ALL new monthly donations are matched at 100% for the first month.

We want to thank everyone who has given to this campaign.

Let's never give up and always move forward!

We must move forward with the construction of our primary school. We seek your support now more than ever as we race to finish the buildings in time for our students to study in January 2023. We aim to collect $75k between now and October to start construction on the last two primary school classrooms through 6th grade. Since we will launch 6th grade next year, it is so important that we do not give up the sight of the finish line and continue to power through the fundraising needed to meet our goals.

Why is this so important? Because locally, we are the only school offering students the chance to study not only in a bilingual atmosphere but also with top-notch instructors, in a beautiful setting, with an excellent curriculum, and high standards! What more could families want? Our classes are full, and every day the waitlist grows! We can hardly accommodate everyone, let alone meet the demand.

How can you make a difference? You can help us bridge the gap between our haves and our needs. We need to build more classrooms, but we haven't got the funds to proceed. We need to launch 6th grade, but we haven't got a classroom just for them! We believe in the power of teamwork.

How will this donation make an impact? As we build more classrooms, we finish out our sustainable tuition model. That is, this is not an ongoing need. Once classrooms are complete, we won't need construction funds any longer. The sooner we finish the campus, the quicker we can reach our goals as a non-profit organization of relying 80% on tuition funds. Right now, it is more like 60%, and that holds us back from operating at our highest capacity. We would love to invest in more: materials, musical instruments, playground equipment, art supplies, etc., but nearly all funds need to go towards construction.

When should you donate? You can sign up to become a recurring donor today. Donate up to $100 per month to support a student's tuition, purchase school supplies, or invest in our construction fund. 100% of your gift goes directly to our organization's operations. Don't forget: all donations are tax deductible in the US!

Thank you!

We've been having so much fun learning at Escuela Adelante we can't stop!

Kids have never been happier attending school and they love being a student at Adelante. Here they make meaningful, deep friendships. They play outside and learn side by side with Mother Nature. Eating fresh foods, belly, heart, and mind full, the love is bursting at the seams at this school. I have never seen a group of more pleasant children and kind adults. The energy is so calm, yet so vibrant and exhilarating that there's no other way to describe it except: It feels like home!

Building a bilingual school in Nicaragua, or anyone for that matter is no easy task. These students of ours give us every reason and motivation to move forward each day. And as we get further along the path of our development, deeper into our long-term goals, and closer to our Master Plan, we know that there's a greater purpose to the work we do in education. We can see it in the smiles of our students and the hearts of our families. Something great is happening at Escuela Adelante, and it's thanks to YOU!

Why do you say that it's thanks to you the donors that these children are as happy as can be at our school each day? Because without the subsidized tuition breaks we receive for the children in the form of recurring donors, and without the generous donations individuals give to the school, we wouldn't be able to provide such an outstanding education to our students. That is because as a low-cost, high-quality bilingual school we are dedicated not only to linguistic and cultural diversity but also socioeconomic! That means we welcome eveyone. We want students of all backgrounds to come together and learn under one roof.

We have found that our model of inclusivity makes for a more harmonious and happy school. We hope it will also lead to a more harmonious and happier world! Some of the fun activities we've done lately include: celebrate Halloween, create fraction pies, attend cooking class, hold science fairs, and much, much more! We will continue to send and spread the positive news that we have about the school. Even though these continue to be trying and different times because of Covid-19, we have shown that we are more than just a name. Adelante in Spanish means Moving Forward and we are our name. Thank you!

Our donors are our superheroes!

Thanks to you we have been building a bilingual school in Nicaragua that continues to grow. This year we inaugurated our first primary school classrooms. But, we still have so far to go! Because many Nicaraguans do not graduate the 6th grade, which marks the end of primary school here, the stability of our school is so important!! We need your support to complete the campus.

Our school provides high-quality education to all students regardless of their ability to pay. But now we need your help to build out our dynamic 6 classroom primary school. We must finish and funrish two more classrooms by January in tme for the new school year. We still need desks, chairs, tables, and bookcases.

Our families and students have shown commitment since preschool, and year after year return to campus for another season of learning. Our donors' commitment is thus equally as important in a country ravaged by poverty.

We are asking you to consider donating on ***July 14th*** for July Bonus Day to this project! Mark your calendar and set your alarm because matching funds go fast and the campaign begins at 9:00 am EST! Only donations of $100 and up will receive a match. The higher the donation, the higher the match!

When we invest in education, we can all feel like superheroes. Let's work together to keep our promise for the future of this community, this country, and this planet. Thank you!

Thank you for making Escuela Adelante possible.
