Project Report | Dec 4, 2023
Positive start to education

By Fiji team | Fiji project team

Thankyou for your consistent support of this project, which centers around the pivotal theme of Quality Education, specifically honing in on SDG 4 and the ambitious Target 4.2.

Target 4.2 underscores the importance of Quality Early Childhood Development, Care, and Pre-Primary Education. The ultimate aim is to ensure that by 2030, every child has access to high-quality early childhood development, care, and pre-education, preparing them adequately for primary education. Our project is dedicated to actively contributing to the realization of this goal.

Early childhood education, a cornerstone of our efforts, is designed to foster the comprehensive development of children encompassing cognitive, social, emotional, and physical dimensions. Offering quality early learning experiences through play is instrumental in equipping children with essential skills that will shape their lives positively.

At the heart of our project lies the facilitation of Learning Through Play sessions, conducted three times a week, each session spanning 3.5 hours and tailored for children aged two to five years. These sessions yield a multitude of benefits, serving as crucial opportunities for young children to learn and develop within a social context. They impart vital lessons on communication, support the development of motor skills, and provide engaging experiences that cultivate problem-solving abilities.

Our repertoire of Learning Through Play activities encompasses a diverse range, from action songs, painting, and drawing to listening to stories, sharing books, and navigating through a simple obstacle course. Each of these activities is crafted to provide a rich array of developmental experiences.

A noteworthy aspect of the Learning Through Play program is its role in supporting young children's transition to school. The social interactions, exposure to a structured learning environment, learning to take turns, and attentive listening—all contribute significantly to the developmental journey. The linguistic benefits of these experiences are equally invaluable.

Your support ensures that we can provide an assortment of play and learning materials, fostering the holistic development of these young learners. This enriches their educational experience, creating a vibrant and interactive play environment that enhances their overall growth.

We appreciate your support in contributing to the development  Your commitment plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of these children, and we are sincerely grateful.

Thank you.
