Classes are going well in the 5 Southern Sudan schools. The teachers were given basic training for 15 days with a 3-day orientation before classes began. Refresher trainings have been conducted about 2 days per month, allowing teachers the opportunity to continually brush up on upcoming lessons and curricula.
For the 175 children that attend these schools, this has been quite a departure from their old lives in which there had been no schools, no teachers, and most had probably never even seen a school building!
Looking forward, we will be striving to keep the schools running, raising support for continued refresher trainings, teaching aids and manuals, and schoolbooks and supplies for upcoming semesters.
Thank you to all who have contributed and have been following our progress! Hopefully we can meet any upcoming challenges together, to help provide these kids with the educations they’ll need to become productive and stable members of their communities.
