By Michelle Chaplin | Program Manager, BRAC USA
Just as many of us are relieved to have a short break from school for the Winter holidays, children in Southern Sudan are anticipating their first chance to go to school.
So far, BRAC has made progress in identifying the students, training teachers and beginning to build school buildings. We include the entire community in the process of developing our schools, engaging them in the success of the children who go there.
Our major milestones include: * identifying 175 out-of-school children to join as the first class of students at the BRAC schools * training 5 teachers - one for each school * building 2 of the 5 school buildings this project will support
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project! Your continued support during this holiday season will help BRAC provide these children with a gift that keeps on giving - the gift of education.
Best wishes and happy holidays,
Michelle
