We found, morethan 90% children (6-12) from untouchable minority Kawra (pig-farming community) who studying in class 2 to 5, dropped out from primary school due to financial crises, lack of extra care at home, illiterate parents, malnutrition and sickness. The parents couldn't afford educational material, healthcare and other basic needs. Hence, they send their children either in the pig grazing field or remain idle which ultimately lead to increase child violence, child labor and child marriage
To reduce dropout, the project will provide educational materials; school dress, bags, shoes, notebooks, pens, gaming materials and 2 hours intensive coaching to 100 poor children at the center after formal school time, so that they can learn, prepare for next day home task and would attend school confidently. Daily nutritious food and health service will make them physically and mentally strong. Besides, they will be taught on demerits of early marriage & sexual violence and merits of hygiene.
The project will enhance 100 extreme poor kawra children whom are about to be dropped out, will be taken back to classroom by providing all educational materials, coaching, nutritious meal and healthcare supports. Once they are promoted to the next class, they will get self-motivation to prepare for higher study which in turn will reduce the early marriage and child labor. In the long run, these will bring sustainable changes in their own lives as well as their families to some extent.
