Where are the glitters?

By Ana Palacio | Executive Director

My bright pink shoes that they gave me so many years ago were now such a pale pink that no one would even say they were pink, and there were only little stars left that could only be seen very close up.

I thought they lost their shine at the same time I lost mine, but if my shoes still had something left, I wanted to believe that deep down, it still had a small glow, that it wasn't completely extinguished.
I would like to tell you something about my story, but they tell me that it is a good thing that I don't remember it, I only know that since I was 7 I haven't seen my mother again, I remember that she didn't cry when they took me away, and that she turned her back on me too quickly while I screamed that I didn't want to leave.

I'm already 15 years old and I've been to different shelters, they've been good to me, but in Superarse something was different. They made that shine that I thought was too hidden to emerge again, come out, and along with it, a lot of things that I thought were lost, like hope, motivation and joy.

I once told my teachers about those pink glitter shoes I had, and although I was already too old for something like that, I couldn't help but feel immensely happy when they gave me, what was for me, the prettiest pink glitter shoes I had ever seen. I had seen in my entire life.
Now, every time I see my shiny shoes, I feel myself shine, and I see what I couldn't see before, a future.

This may be the story of many of our beneficiary girls. This July 10th on BONUS DAY, you can help us change history, THANK YOU FOR DONATE TO THIS PROJECT!
