UPDATE ON PROJECT CREATE ENABLING ENVIRONS FOR 2000 CHILDREN IN OPI

Thank you for your invaluable support and contributions to the implementation of our stated project. We do not take for granted your financial assistance. Unfortunately, we are yet to commence the project due to insufficient funds.

You may recall that, we require $50,000 for the realization of this project but the amount available right now will not be enough to even clear the work site. We need a way larger sum before we can start anything commendable. However, we are not sitting idly waiting for the money to come. We have taken practical steps to generate funds internally as a means of supporting the project. They include:

  • The setting up of a business for the Foundation as a source of income generation. Last month, we started JHF Organic Fruit and Veggies, a spot where we sell natural drinks, fruits and vegetables to customers. (Please see attached photo of the sample drink).

Sales so far have been progressive and we are earnestly working to achieve a target sum of $25,000 for the next one year.

  • In agreement with a partner- Jethro Pharmacy and Superstore, we mounted two donation drop boxes at its thriving Supermarket and Pharmacy. We see compassionate customers who may not have had the means or time to visit a charity home happily use this medium to make their donations. (Please see pictures below).
  • On the other hand, while we are aware of the economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still making attempts to reach out to supportive individuals and partner organisations. We are optimistic that financial assistance will be granted us from these quarters in the long term even as restrictions are gradually easing off and things gradually getting back to normal.
  • We are currently writing to several companies who support educational projects. We have targeted twenty major organizations including banks and breweries, seeking for cash and in-kind sponsorship. By starting early, we expect positive feedbacks as we are providing ample time for planning and inclusion into their budget.
  • Finally, we are actively seeking and writing proposals to external donor agencies who call for projects that fit into our description.

Based on the above, we hope to start the project fully by April 2021. Meanwhile, we keep reaching out to less privileged women, girls and children. Having just concluded a visit to an Internally Displaced Persons Camp last month, we are currently planning another outreach to an Orphanage home by August.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind Regards.
