This project will improve access to quality education for more than 1200 rural children in Devashtich District of Tajikistan through construction of four additional classrooms and one reading room in the School No 1. Peace and prosperity are directly linked to education. We incorporate the local community and diverse set of international support. This enables us to act efficiently with effective results. Management of the project is delivered with full transparency.
Tajikistan is the poorest of all the former Soviet states. Even though education receives the largest share within social sectors from the national budget (16.9%), it mainly covers teacher and administration costs leaving little resources for infrastructure. In addition, Tajikistan is experiencing dramatic population growth (2.4% annual) and this has a direct affect on classrooms. Simple, too many schools are missing the core basics for young learners, access to chairs, desks in a classroom.
To support the dedicated educational professionals who work daily despite hard conditions, the project will improve access to quality education in under-resourced population areas in remote areas of Tajikistan. The project includes the construction of four additional classrooms and one reading room in School No 1, whi was chosen because of its vulnerable population segment and most value for meaningful impact. Access to quality education is crucial. Under-resourced young learners in isolated areas of Tajikistan will have classrooms and a reading room to learn. With proper infrastructure, the school will enable students to achieve basic skills to further pursue their education; learn occupations and establish their lives for the betterment of their communities. The direct results are reduction in poverty, support the overall socio-economic development of the region and well-being of the Tajik nation.
