HOW YOU CAN HELP FOR 2018-2019
Thanks to our donors and to GlobalGiving, 31 of our girls have now been supported for 2018. However, 24 of these girls will be continuing with Helping Hands for 2019 and new girls will begin. Many of our sponsors and contributors have asked how they could donate monthly. With GlobalGiving it’s easy! From Nov. 27 to Dec. 31 2018 recurring monthly donations will be matched by GlobalGiving on the first donation. If you would like to contribute monthly to Helping Hands, please click here. Or check out our Dental Health micro project for our younger students.
OTHER NEWS AND ACTIVITIES:
Leidy, Esther, Salome and Cesar.
Thank you, PROGEST, for making it possible for 46 of our students to take part in “Caminando por La Vida” to raise funds for poor children with cancer.
Pedro invited us to his organic farm in Achocalla to hear a talk on “Masculinity, Machismo and the Patriarchy”. Lots of food for thought.
Alicia, one of our students who finished her studies in Health Statistics in 2009 now works for a big hospital here in La Paz, and she continues to study. Here she shows her certificate for studies in Aymara, a local native language.
THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR MAKING EDUCATION POSSIBLE FOR SO MANY OF OUR YOUTH.
We thank you all once again so very much for the support for our 31 girls. Three of our post-secondary girls finish their studies now in 2018, but the rest will continue with Helping Hands in 2019. Of our high school girls, 4 will graduate this year and you will see their graduation photos in our January newsletter. Some of these four will continue with Helping Hands in 2019 in post-secondary studies and, of course, some new girls will join us in January as well.
The students have made Christmas cards for their supporters, and if you would like to receive a Christmas card from one of the girls, please write to email@example.com
Today October 2 we reached the $ 10,000 goal. All 31 girls will be sponsored and a report will be forthcoming.
This has been possible only with your support. More and more we are convinced that access to education is one of the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty for our youth. We hope you will be following our reports on the different students as they progress with their studies and begin their professional lives.
On behalf of the Helping Hands team, I wish to thank all of our friends and supporters for making it possible for us to earn a permanent place on GlobalGiving. This has been a wonderful experience, and it has been heartwarming for us to have so much support from you all.
