A budding Rose Md. Firdaus

“ A Rose can live amongst thorns and yet never be injured by them ”

A good education, while having the intrinsic value of securing a more dignified life, also has an instrumental value in reducing migration, particularly amongst vulnerable groups such as children.

Ambedkarnagar is a backward slum area and labor colony located in Hyderabad Urban Slum just 15 Km away from in main city. The communities live in a poor and pathetic condition and live in rented tin shacks. Most of the people are daily wage laborers and house maids. They earn very meager income which is not sufficient to provide for their children basic needs especially for their education. Most of the parents are illiterates and they’re not able to provide their children educational opportunities.

The Girl Firdaus hails from a poor and poverty stricken family.  Father is a daily wage labor whose income is very meager and abandoned the family and married other women. Mother is bearing entire burden of the family working as maid servant in the nearby colonies. She should take care of other two younger siblings. She is unable to educate the child with her meager income.

We have identified Girl child Firdaus in our program who has discontinued her studies due to their family situation. Firdaus is showing good interest in her studies. We have motivated her mother to send her to school by organizing back to school program in that hamlet. We have provided all the school material and other school needs. She is attending school regularly and also taking tuition at our pre-school center. Her ambition is to become a doctor and serve the poor community of our society.

Now she is feeling very happy to attend school equipped with all new gear like new dress, books, school bag.

Firdaus conveying her heartfelt gratitude to all valued donors.
