Save the Children states that one third of Nicaraguan children never enroll, drop out or aren't able to finish elementary school to grade six. Not because they don't want to but because the need for them to work and support their family is greater than the need for the to learn. We provide free, good education to 200 children and team it with the nutrition they need for the best start in life. We also support the families in a sustainable way, allowing them to free up the children for school.
Children in Nicaragua are worth more working in the fields or helping in the home than being educated and so many are missing out on education. Those in education in rural communities find that the education is so poor they never finish even primary school due to falling behind so much from poor teaching methods. We provide the best education, by employing local teachers and staff, for 200 children in Nicaragua.
Fly the Phoenix provides the best education by working closely with communities and employing the best teachers. We team our education with food and fruit to combat the problems of malnutrition amongst children and allowing them to concentrate in class. By working closely with the community we also provide sustainable programmes which offer support to the family, as a whole, empowering them to bring themselves out of poverty.
We are creating a 25-year plan to empower a community to bring itself out of poverty through education and nutrition using sustainable methods. We have been working closely with 11 communities for ten years (two of which are in Nicaragua) and have educated over 3,000 children opening up better job opportunities for each one and breaking the cycle of poverty. Once we know the 25-year plan is successful it will be able to be replicated around the globe in any community that needs it.
