Dear Donors,
Happy New Year! 2017 has proved an explosive start for Redress, as we continue to push the agenda for a less polluting fashion industry amidst heightened global concern to reduce climate change and the toxic effect that fashion is having on the people and planet.
This year is our 10-year Anniversary, and we’re determined to make this a big year for change, spurred on by this growing awareness that the fashion and textile industry is the world’s second largest polluting industry.
The EcoChic Design Award 2017 cycle is already firmly underway and we have added the USA to make this the biggest search ever for sustainable design talent. Now, designers and students residing in Asia, Europe and the USA have until 3 April to apply to win the chance to create an up-cycled collection for exciting new brand, B Y T, which will be retailed on B Y T's e-commerce site and at Lane Crawford; along with other prizes that are pushing sustainable fashion to the world.
Now in our seventh cycle of the programme, our educational reach is gaining momentum. We’ve achieved great results over the years: we have educated 5000 emerging fashion designers, students and fashion educators in person across Asia, particularly in China and India, through our lectures and workshops. We’ve just released our free to use, Sustainable Fashion Educator Pack to give fashion educators the tools to teach their fashion design students. and are experiencing a staggering response, with over 300 registrations so far from educational institutions (and fashion brands!) from every corner of the world. Our online education materials also remain in high demand, with currently over 1000 visits per month to our Learn platform.
We could not achieve this without your support
And we need your support again. We have a critical gap in our funding for this cycle. Can you help? No matter how small, your donations really help us. And can you also spread the word about our work? Do you know likeminded businesses that may be interested in collaborating and sponsoring us? If so, please find a link to download a PDF summary 'Partnering with the EcoChic Design Award' below for you to share with your networks.
Many thanks again for all you do to support us!
Best wishes,
Hannah
