VAAFD is sponsoring a Rising female footballer from Carolyn A Miller High School in Paynesville City

By Abigail S Teah | Media and Communication Officer

Bendu is 17 years old and is attending Carolyn A Miller High School in Liberia. She's a Student-athlete whose story shows what's possible when talent meets opportunity and Support.

Bendu’s journey has not been easy, but her faith and determination have carried her forward. Joining the Liberia Female Football Association changed her life and made her family proud. Football taught her discipline, Strength, and resilience, and with her mother’s Support, it became her dream.

VAAFD plans to Sponsor Bendu through targeted Support that addresses both her education and her football development. This includes:

1. Academic Support: Ensuing Bendu can Stay in School without financial Strain, So She completes her education while pursuing football.

2. Training & Equipment: Providing access to better training resources, gear, and coaching to help her develop technically and physically.

3. Mentorship & Care: Connecting her with mentors and ensuring She has the guidance and care needed to grow on and off the pitch.

She balances the demands of School and football every day – early mornings for classes, training in the evenings, and late nights to keep up with Schoolwork. It’s tiring, but Bendu stays focused because She has a goal: to become a professional footballer and create a better future for herself and her family. Bendu’s parents Support her fully, and She’s now able to give back by helping them with their small businesses.

Bendu has faced discouragement and nearly quit after missing Selection for the national team. But her coaches and parents  encouraged her to keep going. Her vision is clear: in 5 years, She sees herself playing professionally in a better environment. If She could change one thing for girls in Liberia, it would be building a proper football academy where girls can train and learn the right way. She credits both LFFA and her School for helping her grow on and off the pitch.

Her story is a reminder that Liberia has talented girls  who are ready to Succeed if given the chance. Your Support through VAAFD will help Bendu Stay in School, train properly, and move closer to her dream of playing professionally – while inspiring other girls to believe it's possible too.

Thank you for considering investing in Bendu’s future. With your help, we can turn her determination into opportunity.
