The Guest Speaker

We say thanks to GlobalGiving and our donors for their support toward our programs. Words are fleeting, and we want you to know that a simple “thank you” doesn’t do justice to how deeply we appreciate your support. Individuals like you are not only a joy to interact with and to be around, but also you are an inspiration. Thank you so much for being so refreshingly loving.

The Carolyn A. Miller High School had their 15th graduation ceremony on the 26th of October 2024, at the Domion Christian Fellowship in Paynesville city. The ceremony typically begins with a procession, where graduates walk in unison to the sound of inspiring music. The class of 2023\2024 was filled with joy as they entered the hall.

Speeches from school officials, guest speakers, and student representatives were very impressive. These speeches reflect on the challenges faced and the lessons learned during their time in school, reminding graduates of the importance of perseverance and resilience.

During the program, VAAFD CEO Mr. Hayes congratulated the administrators, parents and the class of 2023/2024 for their excellence over the year. VAAFD CEO told the audience that success is not achieved alone, but through the support of a community that believes in each individual’s potential. He also mentioned the girl who the VAAFD family had selected from the Carolyn A. Miller High School to study at Cuttington University. He said; this selection was based on the result from the West African Senior School Examination Council (WASSEC).

The guest speaker Mr. Kwaidah, told the graduating class to remember that nothing comes easy to embrace the challenges ahead, for they will shape their journey and lead to their success.

As the moment of recognition approaches, the excitement in their air grows palpable. Graduates were called one by one to the stage, where they received their diplomas, symbolizing their hard earned accomplishments.

The ceremony concluded with a closing speech from the principal, expressing gratitude to all the parents, staff, students and guest speakers for their support and enthusiasm.
