Girl Child in Rural Rajasthan: Literacy Camp GG Fund Raising Closing Report
With the end of the Literacy Camp, our fundraising for this segment comes to a close and to our partners, supporters, donors, mentors, volunteers, and the entire e2e team, we thank you, for supporting causes that promote the empowerment of women through education. All of us at enlighten 2 empower (e2e) appreciate your contributions, whether it is time, effort, guidance, and/or financial support. Your assistance has enabled us to raise over 9,200 USD on this platform. A special shout out to the volunteers at the project site in Rajasar and the staff of Urmul Setu in Lunkaransar —we couldn’t have done it without your support.
e2e’s primary objective is to help illiterate teenage girls who have dropped out of school, become literate and numerate. We completed the initial step of this program by engaging our students in an intensive two-month on-site/in-country literacy camp as detailed in our last report.
In addition to education, this innovative program was designed to provide skills to become financially independent; to enable them to stand up for themselves, especially when faced with physical or psychological aggression; and, to foster self-confidence. The weekly programme of inspirational speakers ranged from a business development trainer, woman filmmaker, a lady mountaineer to a village Sarpanch, self-defence trainer and an empowerment speaker.
THE FUTURE. An 8-month online segment which includes real-time instruction, and preparation to be reintegrated into education through Open Schooling and the annual state examinations. Twice a week, the girls visit the Camp and have access to the local co-ordinator along with online live lessons in continued literacy for the Open Schooling curriculum. Training in livelihood skills will continue to be provided to the girls.
Your donation has helped us to start to help the underserved.
Thank you
Team e2e
