Khoj School for Community Education is a model of integrative and relevant gender just education that breaks the curricular barrier that divides knowledge into mutually exclusive subjects. Linkages are developed and a teaching plan is woven around a specific phenomenon which is very close to the learners' experience and reality. Children find it easier to learn science, agriculture, mathematics, nutrition, cooking, language, social values and citizenship with a common context. They sail smoothly through the process of learning.
Parents and the community were invited to see and experience the advantages of the new approach and method which provokes creativity and curiosity, facilitates conceptual understanding and leads to logical thinking.
To mark the international children's day, mothers and other family members from eight villages were invited to participate in a program organized to share with them the level and quality of children's learning. The whole program was planned, planned and presented by children themselves.
Children presented their knowledge and learning in the form of songs, role plays and drama. Their performances showed their language skills, expression, confidence, conceptual understanding, presentation and organizational skills.
Towards the end of the program, mothers expressed their satisfaction and happiness on the performance of their children. They also shared the compliments of their guests outside their villages about the high-quality education imparted by Khoj School in the remote and socially and environmentally challenged tiny village. With beaming eyes, they also expressed their pride on the virtual teaching center, library and science lab in the school, something not known in other schools in the area.
Your generous support has made all this possible. We thank you all. Your continued support is the lifeline of the school.
