If we do not have a cultural change in our relationship with water, the water crisis appears as an inescapable future. Therefore, this project of Training in Water Law and sustainability to 10 communities of the Argentine Chaco, will allow us to raise awareness about good practices and care of water in children and teachers of Argentine schools.
According to current estimates, by 2030, the 40% shortfall in fresh water resources with the growth of the world population, could lead us rapidly towards a global water crisis. Failure to respond effectively to these challenges will have devastating consequences globally. Water access solutions and resource protection policies do not guarantee the cultural change necessary for the sustainability of the resource or ownership of the solutions.
We know that for this change, it is essential to work in education and the focus on schools guarantees the greatest power of replication and impact. From Fundacion Aguas we'll work with 10 schools in Chaco, Argentina, giving trainings on Water Right and sustainability of water resources with the aim of awakening children's interestin the subject, knowing the problems of other children in the country and become aware of good practices and water care.
Water-conscious communities will make a sustainable future possible in line with the SDGs. Also, the paradigm shift in water education guarantees that the next generations of leaders arrive at decision-making with the necessary path to prioritize the care of water and mass access over any interest.
