ROJO MANOHISOA contributes to poverty alleviation through education, entrepreneurship, nutrition, environmental activities and fight against gender-based violence. Our most recent programs shed the light on deaf talented children and young people through quality education, nutrition and entrepreneurial skills development so that they may have a bright future and become positive agents of change in Madagascar.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to destabilize people's lives in Madagascar. 60 percent of young people in Madagascar lost their job and are deprived of opportunities to earn sustainable income. Lack of access to quality education and nutrition has also become a major concern, especially among deaf children and young people.
ROJO MANOHISOA is creating opportunities in the Western part of Madagascar to help 70 deaf children and young people access quality education and get proper nutrition by providing them with school supplies, tuition and food support. The deaf young people in our community are gifted with creative business talents such as sewing and dancing. Such talents need development and expansion in order for them to be able to increase their self-esteem and earn a sustainable income.
Being able to access quality education and proper nutrition will provide deaf children and young people incentive to find joy in learning and growth. The entrepreneurship and skills development aspects of the project will help in achieving financial independence by generating sustainable income for these talented young people.
