Summer 2026 Program Report

By Mun Maya Rawal | Executive Director

This summer, HCC Nepal conducted its regular summer field trip with students supported through the Rural Investment Scholarship Education (RISE) Program. The trip aimed to distribute scholarships and essential supplies, spend time with students and their families, learn about their situations, and strengthen our connection with them. These visits help us better understand the challenges students face and remind them that we support, value, and care for them throughout their educational journey.

Activities Conducted

  • Scholarship Support: Scholarship support was provided to help students cover educational expenses and reduce the financial burden on their families. The visits also gave us the opportunity to meet students and caregivers, discuss their progress, and learn more about their current needs and circumstances.
  • Educational Materials: Students received educational supplies, including notebooks, pens, pencils, color pencils, geometry boxes, and calculators. These materials will help support their learning and enable them to continue their studies more effectively.
  • Summer Clothing: Each student received a set of summer clothing to help meet their seasonal needs and ensure comfort during the warmer months.
  • Personal Care Items: Students were also provided with personal care items such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair oil, combs, and face towels to support their hygiene and overall well-being

Beneficiaries

A total of 92 students received direct support during the three-day field trip. The program was carried out in Baireni, Benighat, Bungchung, Dhading Besi, Darkha, and Nuwakot.

Student Engagement and Observations

One of the most valuable aspects of the trip was spending time with students and their families. These visits allowed us to better understand their daily lives, educational experiences, challenges, and future goals.

The team also met students studying at Advanced Academy School, Uttargaya School, and Shree Bindukeshar School. Students shared their academic progress, personal achievements, challenges, and aspirations for the future. Their determination to continue their education despite difficult circumstances was both inspiring and encouraging.

These interactions reminded us that students need more than financial assistance. Regular encouragement, guidance, mentorship, and emotional support are also important for helping them succeed and achieve their goals.

Conclusion

The 2026 summer field trip was a meaningful and rewarding experience. In addition to providing scholarships, educational materials, summer clothing, and personal care items to 92 students, it allowed us to connect directly with the children and families we support.

Meeting students in person helped us better understand their lives, celebrate their achievements, and identify areas where they need additional support. Most importantly, the trip reinforced the importance of maintaining strong relationships with students and ensuring they feel supported as they work toward their educational goals.

HCC remains committed to supporting these students and helping them build brighter futures through education, care, encouragement, and ongoing guidance.
