This project, initiated by Al Fares Charity Association, aims to support the education and well-being of children in Lebanon by providing food baskets to families in need. This project addresses both the nutritional needs of families and the educational aspirations of children, ensuring they stay in school and are protected from early labor.
In many communities in Lebanon, economic hardships force families to rely on their children to contribute to the household income. This often leads to high dropout rates, with children being deprived of their right to education and exposed to the risks of early labor. The recent socio-economic crises, compounded by the lack of support for Syrian refugees and declining purchasing power, have exacerbated this issue.
This project will provide food baskets to families who commit to keeping their children in school. By addressing the immediate food insecurity, the project allows children to focus on their education rather than working to support their families. Each food basket serves as compensation for the child's potential earnings, thus removing a barrier to education. Additionally, this initiative collaborates with different organisations to ensure comprehensive support, including transportation.
This project aims to create long-term impact by: 1. Ensuring continuous educational opportunities for children, leading to brighter futures. 2. Protecting children from exploitation and early labor, promoting their safety and well-being. 3. Supporting mothers emotionally and economically, fostering a sense of security. 4. Alleviating economic pressures within communities, contributing to social stability and development.
