It has been a busy few months here at Nurture Africa in Uganda as we have been constructing new training centres for both our carpentry and new biowaste recycling students.
This year, there are 163 students accessing free education within the Nurture Africa Vocational Centre. Your support has enabled the team here to find the most vulnerable youth in the communities that we work and provide them with an opportunity to enroll in one of five 2 year courses on offer..... Tailoring, Hairdressing, Catering, Carpentry and Biowaste Recycling.
We have just completed construction of our carpentry and biowaste training centres and are incredibly excited by this expansion to the youth empowerment project. This will enable us to work with more students in the years ahead as we seek to provide young people with the life skills and education that will support them to grow confidently into adulthood and gain employment.
Currently, we are hosting international volunteers from Ireland who are teaching "Introduction to IT" classes, where the students are learning to research on the internet, write letters and CV's, basic profit and loss book keeping and design posters to promote future businesses.
On behalf of the students, I wish to express sincere gratitude to you for supporting this project either through a single or monthly donation.
