We support rural girls back to school and also run an after school club where girls can read, socialise and play games with their pairs. We teach them about their rights so that they can protect themselves against harmful practices like child sexual abuse and child marriage. We Offer; Home Work Assistance, Healthy Snacks & Meals, ICT class, Counselling, Mentoring, Body Safety Class, Arts & Crafts, Mental Health & Wellness, Physical Fitness & Sports, College & Career Access Programs and Movies
In Nigeria, there is huge gender disparity between the education that boys and girls receive. Many girls do not have access to education past certain age. It is evident that girls drop out of school due to the following reasons; 1. Lack of school fees 2. Early marriage 3. Sexual abuse 4. Period poverty
The project will help close the gap that exists between girls and school enrolment, increase girls enrolment in school, and to an extent end the exclusion of married, pregnant students from schools, to provide access to sanitary and private toilets, to make sure all girls we come across have access to quality education and are well taken care of.
The project will mentor, empower and send 200 girls to school, equip them with vocational and skills training at the girls club which will help lift them out of the cycle of poverty, provide for their families' health and general wellbeing.
