The sponsorship project aims to connect 30 economically disadvantaged high school and college students in Kenya with individual and institutional benefactors who fund tuition, uniforms, and essential learning materials. The program also runs an integrated mentorship component, "My Education, My Future," which delivers life-skills and academic guidance workshops during school holidays to strengthen students' academic resilience and future prospects.
Girls' education in Kenya faces systemic barriers, including poverty, early pregnancy, cultural norms, and gender discrimination. Limited access to learning materials, poor sanitation, unsafe environments, and lack of mentorship increase dropout rates. Without adequate supplies and support, many girls abandon education early, limiting their opportunities and perpetuating cycles of poverty and dependency, resulting in unequal participation in community development.
In response to the educational challenges facing girls in Kenya, this project currently supports six students and plans to expand to 30 girls in 2026. Targeting students from needy families, the program provides tuition fee, essential resources, textbooks, learning materials, and technology to strengthen learning, promote literacy, and nurture a love of reading. By covering tuition fees and supplying these resources, the project increases access to education and improves attendance.
The sponsorship project has improved students' academic outcomes and reduced family financial burdens. To expand impact, we seek more benefactors, deepen school partnerships, and enhance monitoring to measure long-term educational and socioeconomic gains. Ongoing investment in mentorship and learning resources will turn short-term support into lasting empowerment for students and their families. Educated women invest more in their children's education, creating a lasting positive impact.
