Success Story Highlight
“From Silence to Strength” – Saima’s Journey
Saima, a 26-year-old woman with hearing impairment from Hyderabad, was initially hesitant to join the digital literacy program. However, with the support of mentors and interpreters, she quickly gained confidence and mastered computer skills. Saima has since started offering graphic design services from home, earning a modest income, and inspiring other women in her community to pursue their dreams despite challenges.

Overview
The Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) continues to make meaningful progress toward its mission of empowering women with disabilities across Pakistan. During this reporting period, DWA actively engaged 45 women with disabilities through a capacity-building consultation workshop organized in collaboration with PODA Pakistan and WaterAid. This event aimed to integrate gender-responsive and climate-resilient approaches into policy dialogues, promoting inclusive development in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key Activities and Outcomes

Over 20 women with disabilities from different regions were directly involved in knowledge-sharing and policy discussions. Their presence was vital in shaping advocacy strategies for inclusive legal reforms in Pakistan’s WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector.
