“Educate 150 Vulnerable Students in Lebanon” project aims to provide critical educational support to underprivileged students facing financial and social hardships. As we navigate through challenging times, the project continues to make progress, but we still rely on the generosity of donors to achieve our goal. This report outlines the steps we’ve taken so far and highlights the ongoing need for support to fulfill our mission.

Project Goals

  • Educate 150 vulnerable students in North-Lebanon who lack access to quality education due to financial constraints.
  • Provide scholarships, school supplies, and learning resources to help students succeed academically.
  • Create a supportive learning environment through extracurricular activities, mentorship programs, and community engagement.

Current Progress

As of today, we have made significant strides in establishing a foundation for the project, despite facing several financial challenges. Below is an overview of the key steps we've taken so far:

  1. Student Identification and Outreach
    • We have successfully identified 80 vulnerable students across different regions of Lebanon who need educational assistance.
    • Our outreach team has engaged local communities, schools, and social workers to ensure we target the most in-need students.
  2. Scholarship Allocation
    • So far, we have been able to secure partial funding for 35 students, covering their tuition fees for the upcoming academic year.
    • Through a transparent selection process, these students were chosen based on need and academic performance.
  3. Learning Resources Distribution
    • In partnership with local NGOs, we distributed school supplies (books, stationery, uniforms) to 50 students to ease their financial burden.
    • Digital resources, such as tablets and e-learning tools, have been provided to 15 students to help them access remote education.
  4. Extracurricular and Mentorship Programs
    • Workshops and tutoring sessions have been launched for students to enhance their academic skills and personal development.
    • Mentorship programs are underway to guide students through their educational journeys, providing moral and academic support.

Challenges Faced

While we’ve made commendable progress, we still face substantial obstacles that require immediate attention:

  1. Insufficient Funding
    • The project is only partially funded, and without additional donations, it will be difficult to reach the full target of 150 students.
    • Many students are still waiting for scholarships, as the current funds cover only a fraction of their tuition fees.
  2. Rising Educational Costs
    • The cost of education continues to rise due to economic inflation in Lebanon, making it harder for us to cover the expenses of all students.
  3. Demand for Digital Resources
    • The transition to hybrid and online learning has increased the demand for digital devices and internet access, which our current funding can’t fully cover.

Call for Support

In order to complete the project and educate all 150 students, we urgently need generous support from donors. Every contribution, no matter how small, directly impacts the lives of vulnerable educator (youth and children) and gives them the chance to thrive through education.

How You Can Help

Donors can contribute through the GlobalGiving platform, where your support will go directly to the students in need. By investing in education, you help break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for Lebanon's youth.

Conclusion

We have made promising progress, but we still have a long way to go. The generous donations from our supporters will be the driving force that enables us to continue this vital work and achieve our goal of educating 150 students. With your help, we can provide them with the tools they need to succeed and shape a better future.

Thank You for Your Support!

Let’s join hands to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable students in Lebanon. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind in their pursuit of education.
