All Peru celebrated Peruvian Independence Day - Rae Lewis
We use theater that includes the entire student body in age-related scenes, to teach our girls their Peruvian Andean culture and share this history with the audience. CW girls dressed up and acted out the life of the early inhabitants of Andean Peru. All students and the audience learn by watching this presentation by CW girls the discovery of fire and agriculture.
Also each year we celebrate our popular Festival of Food to showcase the diversity of food of Peru. Included is a competition of regional dishes prepared Kiosk style by CW mothers and judged by a local chef who picks the winner. Small plates are then sold to the audience waiting in line. Prior to the event, the mothers choose their region and a dish for the competition. They create a list of ingredients needed, and borrow from the director Ruth the money to buy the food needed. Mothers are given Instructions to keep good records to later identify the profit after paying back the loan to the director Ruth. This is a win-win exercise with so many lessons for all to learn. The profits from each class kiosk will be added up and will purchase something that the winning class needs.
The girls create the regions costumes, dress up and dance in front of the booth of their classroom. The community loves this event and everyone learns something. Every student plays a role to fit their grade.
Chicuchas Wasi financial shortfall
The Chicuchas Wasi bank balance is $50,538.41usd today. To complete the 2023 school year's remaining 5 months we will need approximately $70,000usd. The dollar exchange rate is down affecting us, as gas, and food basics go up along with a few unplanned administrative expenses for the ministry of education with nothing left for our small Graduation and Christmas celebrations.
I plan to transfer $33,100 today to hold the school through October, leaving CW bank balance at $17,438. Final school funding for 2023 is $36,900usd to Jan. leaving us a shortfall of approx. $20,000 to complete the school year. If you can Please Donate.

**Maria School business plan to support CW school for girls **
Soon we will generate the income to support the Maria school as well as the Chicuchas Wasi school for girls as Maria student enrollment grows.
Cusco parents who demand quality private school education for their college bound children, plan to educate them at competitive foreign and national universities. We really need your donations now for the March 2024 start-up for longevity success in Peru. This is the perfect business for CW.org as the demand is high. Covid permanently closed down many private schools that were functioning unregulated in small rented buildings before Covid. The CW Maria school is a beautiful modern and colorful primary school built to deliver quality education and welcomed by the Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile please help us keep the CW girls school open. Until the Maria School enrollment is generating enough income, we will still need your support to maintain the Chicuchas Wasi School for girls that we continue to deliver at no charge to our poor families. Please see budget and donate. Thank you so much for the gift of education for girls. See images of CW Girls school and the new Maria School. We have achieved much in 37 years. THANK YOU

THANK YOU
Your continued support makes the difference!
CW's future when the (tuition-based ) 'Maria Tuition School' classes are filled, will be self-supporting. Covid upset our plans to open the Maria school in 2020 due to strict lock-down and political gov changes. We are READY & will be enrolling Maria School's new students for March 2024 school year.
NOTE: Thank you all for hanging in there with us. We have a little way to go yet but the impact of our work is self evident in the success of our girls...some are at the university today.
