What a great start for 2015
A new year holds expectations for us all and CW is no different. School is on summer vacation in Peru and the best time to get a lot of work done. We have many projects that need completing and others we haven't discovered that we need yet. See below what has happened already.

I'll bet you didn't know that our new school since it opened in 2012, has had no electricity, other than a borrowed extension from a neighbor. People in the Andes manage easily with little, in fact many rural families outside of the city live by the light of the sun. Ruth has applied to bring electricity to the school since 2012 for the obvious benefit it would bring to our students: technology, Internet and connection to the rest of the world, educational video programs, etc. Good fortune shined on us recently and over the last weekend the entire electric crew came and installed the CW electricity for a cost we can manage. Ruth made a deal with them, she bought the poles, cement, rocks, electric cables and hooks, and paid the labor. The entire electric crew came and installed electricity down the road to just inside the school gate. Soon, the electricity will extend to the classrooms. Finally! Today we have lights and plans for computers and an internet connection in the CW future. Please see photo below

While the CW school is closed for the summer, Ruth is taking advantage to build an adobe animal pen and cages to better manage our guinea pigs and sheep that will supply more protein to our meal program next March.
You may remember that our students were seriously anemic at the start of school in 2014, so we immediately changed to a high protein meal daily for all students and their mental and physical health improved.
The spirit of the families and staff is amazing at our school. You will see parents, teachers and other staff all jump in to help an important project. Here, the wife of the security man, is helping build this pen for the sheep that run around freely eating the vegetable garden we just planted with delight. We need the vegetables in the kitchen too.

CW School is a happy safe place for our student with sounds of laughter and smiles all around. The CW team has created a loving environment for our girls to grow and explore freely, they are like little flowers that bloom fully in this love.
Our December fundraiser was successful and thanks to YOU we are off to a positive start for the new year. School will begin again in March with some newly completed benefits for the students.
We hope your 2015 is filled with peace, health, joy, and shared love for everyone. It is possible. Everything is possible.
