Thanks to your generous support, Dhammajarinee Witthaya School (DWS) is becoming more and more widely recognized for its successful innovative teaching. In addition to providing the standard educational curriculum, DWS aims to develop the full potential of every student through programs for self-development and gaining real-world experience.
Many high-school-age students from remote areas arrive with only elementary-level education. 23% of all students who come to DWS arrive below their grade level or with learning disabilities.
Through your support, we have been able to to provide these disadvantaged girls with quality education. We are now taking another step forward to provide excellent education to widen every student's opportunities for higher education and career choices.
Several key administrators of the Dhammajarinee School were recently introduced to the exciting approach of STEM education. STEM stands for the intentional integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It strives to create a learning environment in which students investigate and engineer solutions to problems.
In June, two STEM experts will spend two weeks at Dhammajarinee training teachers and students in this innovative approach that uses collaboration, communication, research, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and practical projects to develop skills that students need to be successful in today's world.
Your generous support has allowed Dhammajarinee to give the girls a brighter future. Already the collaboration with Panyapiwat Institute, a well-respected institute of higher education in Thailand, is providing higher level classes and teachers to the upper grade students. By adding STEM learning technologies for students grades K-12 and their teachers, we hope to see many girls pursuing high level professional degree programs.
Thank you for continuing to share with us our essential mission to educate the next generation of mothers and leaders in Thailand. For those of you who are not yet a member of our Guardian Donor Circle of monthly donors, we warmly invite you to consider joining as the reliable monthly support is giving momentum to every precious step of progress.
