This project is necessary to reduce vulnerability among women living with HIV and AIDS in Kaalo village empowering them through income generating activities to enable them to earn income to take care of themselves and their families.Women living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Kaalo village are among the most vulnerable groups due to poverty,high illiteracy levels and absence of appropriate inheritance policies.The districts lies in the central region of Uganda with an HIV .
A survey conducted by Kyakulumbye Development Foundation on women survival strategies,vulnerability and the impact of HIV/AIDS on households in Butambala county,revealed a wanting situation that needed immediate intervention .Out of 350 targeted women respondents 6%had been affected by HIV/AIDA and did not have any gainful economic activities to support their households.Their survival strategies ranged from supplying casual labor ,selling brew,sell of vegetable with capital less than 50,000
The project life span is one year ,it will provide chicken for better income and add value to their diet through eating eggs,training in business and entrepreneurship skills and are taught to share the knowledge with their neighbors and attaining tailoring lessons.
