We at Gen.Ukrainian are committed to doing everything possible to help Ukrainian children affected by the war to restore their childhood. Through our 21-day expert-led rehabilitation program, children receive therapy, group support, and family sessions to rediscover the joys of childhood.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is matching all the donations 1:1 to ensure the highest-quality preparation for the program. This will allow 100 children aged 7-17 who have lost their parent(s) to participate in the Gen.Camp psychological rehabilitation program in 2025.
The program preparation is currently halfway through. Its content has been developed and scientifically and statistically proven. The program team has arranged logistics solutions and is preparing to train new team members to get ready for the launch in early June. The participants' selection process is ongoing to enable the most needed children to receive support as early as possible. The primary target audience is children and adolescents who have had a traumatic experience as a result of the war: lost parents, survived captivity, forced deportation, and occupation. The first two groups in 2025 will cover 100 children who lost their parent(s) or whose parent(s) have gone missing.
The rehabilitation program is being implemented hand-in-hand with scientific research on the effects of war and loss on children and strategies for restoring childhood, including the mental health recovery of children affected by the war. The research findings will inform policies and reforms, creating a platform for systemic change in working with war-affected children.
We work to ensure that no child is left behind.
